The Patrol Section of the Operations Division consists of all uniformed police officers to include approximately 8 patrol officers and 2 Corporals. The Patrol Section is the most visible and recognizable unit of the police department, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. Patrol officers are first responders who provide proactive police patrols; enforce federal, state, and local laws; enforce traffic laws; and report offenses. In short, Patrol performs initial investigations into offenses and prevents and deters crimes through their presence.
