School Resource Officers

The Lake Dallas Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) is a specially trained police officer that serves as a positive role model for students, and provide assistance to school administration for the Lake Dallas Independent School District (LDISD). The SROs provides full-time police services to the Lake Dallas Middle School and Lake Dallas Elementary School and builds a relationship with students in order to improve relations between youth and police. The aim of the SRO program is to help students help themselves through personal safety awareness.

The SROs create and maintain safe, secure, and orderly learning environments for students, teachers, and staff. As a positive role model, an SRO instills good moral standards, good judgment and discretion, respect for other students, and a sincere concern for the school community. As a law-related presenter, the SROs will share special law enforcement expertise by presentations for school staff and students to promote a better understanding of school safety and state law.
