We invite you to join us for the largest one-day cleanup event in the state of Texas! The Trash-Off serves as Texas’ signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program. During this event, volunteers help beautify the community by clearing designated areas of litter and debris.
Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful is an affiliate of the Keep Texas Beautiful program. As an affiliate community, we share the program’s mission "to educate and engage Texans to take responsibility for improving their community’s environment through litter prevention, beautification and waste reduction".
Please wear long sleeves, pants and sturdy shoes. Gloves, trash bags, orange safety vests and hand sanitizer will be provided. Trash grabbers will be distributed depending on need. Children under 16 years of age must have a chaperone present throughout the entire event.
New this year:
Waste Management will be hosting a recycling education booth.
We will use 5 gallon buckets to pick up trash and then will empty them into garbage bags. This will limit waste by ensuring trash bags are full before they are put in the dumpster therefore reducing the number of bags we use. Buckets will be reused for future events. A big THANK YOU to Home Depot in Denton and Lewisville for donating buckets for the Trash-Off.
Free Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off patches will be available for volunteers such as scouts.
We have orange safety vests and trash grabbers to ensure the safety and comfort of our volunteers.
Registration starts at 9:00 am at Willow Grove Park.
